October is the Tamaraw Month. A great opportunity to inform on the tamaraw and the habitat it can be found and highlight progress achieved by the people involved in its conservation. For the last seven years, the D’ABOVILLE Foundation and Demo Farm Inc have worked alongside local stakeholders and authorities to help achieve this difficult task. Together, we have re-discovered a population of tamaraw in Oriental Mindoro; assessed the habitat situation of MIBNP, home of the largest tamaraw population, and currently furthering the bio-cultural landscape approach with local communities and developing alternative monitoring methods, and much more. Several awareness and information events are organized on that occasion.
